About the position

The Controller/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position is a leadership role within a privately-owned manufacturing company located in Philadelphia, PA. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, financial reporting, and cash management while providing strategic guidance to the owner on various business issues. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on environment and contribute to the overall operational efficiency of the company.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions.
• Manage end of month/year close processes.
• Prepare financial statements.
• Generate monthly KPI reports.
• Monitor cash management and investments.
• Administer payroll and benefits, along with HR functions.
• Oversee IT systems and hardware in collaboration with outside vendors.
• Handle sales tax reporting.
• Prepare the annual budget.
• Interface with auditors for annual financial statement and tax reporting.
• Lead ERP implementation efforts.
• Consult with the owner on various business issues.
• Assist in implementing best practices for overall operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• MBA and/or CPA preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to build teams and foster cooperation across the organization.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Experience in a hands-on medium-sized company environment.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize duties to meet strict deadlines.
