About the position

The Controller at Diablo/Freud Tools is responsible for overseeing the financial results of the company from both a legal entity and consolidated perspective. This role supports various teams, including sales and marketing, by providing financial analysis and advice, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and collaborating with the financial analyst team during month-end closing activities. The Controller will also conduct product cost analysis and communicate financial results to senior management, highlighting risks and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial results of the company on both legal entity and consolidated views.
  • Support sales, marketing, and new product development teams with project calculations and financial topics.
  • Perform gross margin and product cost analysis, understanding manufacturing cost implications on financial statements.
  • Provide financial advice to management based on analysis of monthly results versus prior month/forecast.
  • Assist the financial analyst team with month-end closing activities, ensuring correctness of postings versus budget.
  • Interact with European headquarters on processes, timelines, and standard reporting.
  • Implement new tools and financial concepts as needed.
  • Prepare monthly results (sales, margin, and profitability) on a consolidated view and communicate results with senior management.
  • Conduct cost center expenses reporting, analysis, and preparation of controlling journal entries.
  • Ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy in all financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful experience in controlling.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and provide recommendations.
  • Advanced problem-solving ability to identify discrepancies and implement solutions.
  • High attention to detail to oversee financial statements and budgets accurately.
  • Adaptability to implement technology changes and maintain financial integrity.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with teams and management.
  • Proven efficiency in time management to meet deadlines.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
