About the position

The Controller (Engineering & Design) position at Kreischer Miller is a full-time role focused on financial leadership within a dynamic engineering and design firm. The Controller will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring the seamless operation of financial systems. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to support innovative projects and mission-driven goals, making a significant impact on the company's financial strategies and operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and create monthly and annual financial statements.
• Oversee month-end close, payroll, benefits processes, and maintain up-to-date accounting policies and procedures.
• Lead ERP systems and accounting integrations, specifically around AP, AR, and billing functions.
• Guide and support the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and development.
• Use PowerBI to prepare project management reports that track metrics and project performance.
• Lead and support financial audits, including FAR overhead, 401k, and ESOP audits.
• Play a key role in ESOP capital management, contributing to long-term employee ownership and financial growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required; CPA certification preferred.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, ideally a mix in both public accounting and the private sector, along with experience in managing others.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and advanced PowerBI skills.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail, with excellent organization and delegation skills.
• Leadership skills with a commitment to team development.
