About the position

As an Entry-Level Controller with a focus on Financial Analysis, you will play a crucial role in managing the accounting operations of a manufacturer of beauty and personal care products. This position offers a starting salary of up to $80,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Your primary responsibilities will include supervising a team of three accounting personnel, overseeing key financial processes such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and expense reporting. You will also be responsible for performing inventory accounting and analysis, managing capital expenditures, and producing various financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. In this role, you will facilitate the month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes, assist with budgetary planning, and manage supplier and vendor relationships. Your analytical skills will be essential as you produce forecasts, analyze variances and risks, and derive actionable insights from your financial analyses. Collaboration with leadership teams will be a key aspect of your role, contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts. You will also be tasked with troubleshooting issues and complaints, training new members of the accounting department, and handling special projects as assigned. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as an Accountant or Controller, with a strong background in financial analysis, preferably within a manufacturing environment. A Bachelor's degree is required, and familiarity with software such as Sage and Oracle will be considered a plus. This position is based in Chicago, IL, and requires in-person attendance, with a standard Monday to Friday work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting operations
  • Supervise a team of 3 Accounting Department Personnel

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2 years of experience as an Accountant and/or Controller (Preferred)
  • 2 years of experience in Financial Analysis (Preferred)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
