About the position

The Controller & HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial management functions within PMB Management. This role involves streamlining accounting processes, preparing financial forecasts and budgets, managing internal audits, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The position also includes HR responsibilities such as onboarding employees and managing benefits, making it a hybrid role that combines financial oversight with human resources management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets based on client information.
  • Prepare month-end reports including actual versus budget variance and ongoing commitments for capital acquisitions.
  • Manage the internal month-end close process, including journal vouchers and financial forecasts.
  • Participate in miscellaneous projects as required.
  • Retain records for client audits and attend Governance Board meetings.
  • Conduct internal audits of product sites and manage team performance.
  • Verify capital asset acquisitions against the budget and seek client approval for overruns.
  • Oversee monthly billing and report on variances for controllable and non-controllable costs.
  • Manage employee and contractor onboarding processes.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, and product performance on the financial side.
  • Manage spending on accounts and subscriptions, and oversee insurance needs for the company.
  • Assist the CEO and COO in decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business.
  • Eight years or more of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Valid CPA, CMA, or CA certification is required.
  • Experience with GAAP accounting practices.

  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and good analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines and minimal supervision.
