The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in the financial operations of Stonebrook Exterior. This position will focus on performing reconciliations, managing certified payroll, preparing journal entries, and conducting audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within the finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify posting discrepancies and adjust, as necessary, in a timely manner.
  • Maintain detailed records of all reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Manage the certified payroll process, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Supervise the preparation and submission of weekly certified payroll reports accurately and on time.
  • Ensure timely posting of weekly payroll, credit card transactions, labor costs to jobs.
  • Ensure timely posting of monthly allocation of benefits and fuel charges.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll and 1099 laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger as needed.
  • Ensure all entries are supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
  • Compile and provide necessary documentation for auditors.
  • Implement and monitor audit recommendations and controls.
  • Responsible for month-end close and cycle and assisting in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Support the finance team in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
  • Actively seek opportunities to implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage the Visa and WEX card programs - new accounts, closed accounts.
  • Support various finance projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.
  • Train and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Perform all other duties required by business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Multi-Entity experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with an in-depth understanding of reconciliations, payroll, journal entries, financial statement preparation, WIP.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems - NetSuite, Accumatica, Sage Intacct, SAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros).
  • Excellent data analytics, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
