About the position

Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is seeking a dedicated Controller for Nonprofit Organizations to provide outsourced accounting services. This role involves transforming financial departments of nonprofit clients, ensuring compliance, and enhancing operational efficiency. The Controller will work closely with clients, their staff, and boards to deliver impactful financial reporting and strategic recommendations, all within a supportive and flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients.
  • Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.
  • Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentations.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Handle transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Conduct analysis and data visualization, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Manage grant management, allocations, and funder reporting.
  • Prepare for and manage annual audits.
  • Provide client and staff training opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5-7 plus years accounting experience.
  • Experience working in a remote environment preferred.
  • Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis.
  • Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems.
  • Non-profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus but not required.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual-English/Spanish a plus.
