About the position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as a Consultant Controller! As a Consultant Controller, you will play a crucial role in providing financial leadership, strategic guidance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality services. Your daily responsibilities in the Consultant Controller role will generally include preparing and reviewing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. You will ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards while working on the development, monitoring, and analysis of budgets and forecasts. In this role, you will conduct regular financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. You will provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and develop and implement internal control procedures to ensure operational effectiveness. Timely and accurate filing of all required tax returns will be part of your responsibilities, as well as coordinating and managing external audits, providing necessary documentation, and ensuring a smooth audit process. As a leader, you will provide guidance to the accounting team and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Collaboration with executive leadership on financial planning and decision-making will be essential, as well as identifying and mitigating financial risks through ongoing analysis and proactive measures. You will also respond to ad hoc requests for financial information and analysis from executive leadership.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Controller or similar financial leadership role, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced in Excel and proficient in financial software/ERP systems.
  • Commitment to duration and needs of project, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused consulting environment.
