About the position

As an Assistant Controller at Schenck USA Corp., you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the corporation under the guidance of the Controlling Manager. This position is ideal for individuals with a finance or cost accounting background, particularly those who have strong financial auditing experience in a manufacturing environment. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial reporting, as well as collaborating with various departments to ensure the financial health of projects. You will be involved in regular reporting of project performance, working closely with Operations and Project Managers to address any financial issues that may arise. Additionally, you will assist the Order Processing team in creating new Sales Orders and setting up Billing Plans within the MRP system. Your role will also encompass project-specific planning and cost analyses, as well as participation in the monthly close process, which includes preparing and recording journal entries. You will assist the Controlling Manager in reviewing and analyzing financials before they are presented to upper management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. This position is integral to the company's success and may involve other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with regular reports of project performance to the Controlling Manager.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Project Managers to address financial issues affecting projects.
  • Assist the Order Processing team in creating new Sales Orders and setting up Billing Plans in the MRP system.
  • Conduct project-specific planning and cost analyses, including spreadsheets and tracking as required.
  • Participate in the monthly close process, preparing and recording journal entries.
  • Assist the Controlling Manager with the review and analysis of financials before submission to upper management.
  • Perform other duties critical to the company's success as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance.
  • 3-5 years of related finance/cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Understanding and experience with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Experience with financial statements is required.
  • Financial planning and analysis experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication, math, and computer skills are essential.
  • MRP/ERP experience is required; SAP experience is preferred.
