The Plant Controller for Midwest Operations is a key member of the leadership team responsible for providing financial leadership and support to the Midwest operations of Helios Hydraulics of Americas. This role encompasses operational accounting and finance functions, including inventory and cost accounting, sales margin analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities. The successful candidate will deliver accurate financial insights to aid management decisions and support audits.

  • Support the Midwest Operations Leadership Team in delivering business results by applying business and financial acumen to identify and summarize key business drivers, trends, and risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to effectively manage, optimize, and grow the Midwest Operations in a manner that maximizes value.
  • Provide analysis, reports, and presentations that help explain business performance and enable effective decision-making.
  • Engage with Midwest Operations Leadership Team counterparts, promoting best practices and collaboration.
  • Provide insight regarding factors impacting material costs, gross margin, and operating margin for the Midwest Operations entities.
  • Conduct variance analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational results for the manufacturing operations within the Midwest operations.
  • Maintain current tools/models and introduce new tools/models, processes, and improve analysis used for executive financial deliverables.
  • Monitor financial activities to ensure compliance with all policies, regulations, and internal control requirements.
  • Assist in establishing, standardizing, and monitoring finance team goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for the Midwest Operation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external audit resources in support of financial and SOX audits, including maintaining internal control documentation, responding to audit requests, and coordinating audit testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 8+ years proven accounting experience in a discrete manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • 3+ years experience in an accounting supervisory role.
  • Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis (FP&A).
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team.
  • Ability to lead and motivate high performing teams.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Competitive salary range of $155,000 - $165,000 per year.
