About the position

The Controller at Keytronic's Oakdale, MN facility is responsible for directing the financial activities of the manufacturing site. This includes managing financial reporting, budget development, and overseeing internal and external record-keeping activities. The role is integral to the plant leadership team, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements while fostering a supportive and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and operational reports.
  • Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions.
  • Collaborate with Site Leader, Plant Accountants, and senior management to explain results and identify inefficiencies.
  • Assist in preparation of budgets.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Enforce and review internal controls to comply with Sarbanes Oxley Rule 404.
  • Prepare reports required by regulatory and tax agencies.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of corporate structure, practices, and policies.
  • Design and maintain accurate internal and external reports.
  • Manage Plant Finance department staffing, including hiring and training employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related degree.
  • Three plus years accounting management experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong emphasis in cost accounting.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to handle and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment and familiarity with email, Internet, word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
  • CPA Certification.
  • Five plus years experience in managing accounting functions with a publicly traded company.
  • Knowledge of SEC rules.
  • Experience in Contract Manufacturing and EMS industry.
