About the position

The Controller for Multifamily Construction will lead all finance and accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance within the organization. This role involves preparing financial statements, conducting risk assessments, and overseeing the transition to new financial systems, all while providing strategic insights to executives. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the construction industry, particularly in multifamily projects, and will be responsible for establishing financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all finance and accounting operations to maintain financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare financial statements and forecasting reports for executive review, providing insights for decision-making.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify financial trends, and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and enforce financial policies, ensuring procedural consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the transition from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, with seamless integration with Procore and other platforms.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years as a Controller in a construction company, specifically in multifamily construction (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance (MBA/MPA with a Finance concentration is a plus).
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Adaptive, Procore, and Monday.com.
  • Advanced Excel skills and MS Office expertise.
  • CPA preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communicator who can confidently present to executives, adaptable to both strategic and operational demands.
