About the position

We have an opening for an experienced Multi-Franchise Automotive Controller to join our MIM location accounting team in Tampa, FL. The Controller will be responsible for ensuring that all financial results are accurate and timely, adhering to GAAP accounting guidelines. This role requires a strong partnership with the stores' General Manager and department leaders to ensure that company processes are followed, particularly in overseeing expense control. The Controller will lead their accounting staff daily, providing training and mentorship while also inspecting day-to-day operations. Additionally, this position will serve as a direct contact for both internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations and requirements. The candidate will also need to adhere to the manufacturers' dealer and lender requirements, as well as those set forth by government agencies and the Florida DMV.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely financial results monthly to MFR and Executive Leadership Staff.
• Follow proper GAAP accounting guidelines in all financial reporting.
• Partner with the stores' General Manager and department leaders to ensure company processes are followed.
• Oversee expense control within the accounting department.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff on a daily basis.
• Inspect day-to-day operations of the accounting team.
• Serve as a direct contact with internal and external auditors.
• Adhere to manufacturers' dealer and lender requirements, as well as government (state) agencies and FL DMV regulations.

Requirements

• 3 years minimum Automotive Controller Experience required.
• Experience with GAAP accounting guidelines is essential.
• Familiarity with Reynolds and Reynolds software is helpful.
