About the position

The Controller at Plumb is a strategic and resourceful professional responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing financial operations, and leading a team of accounting professionals. This role emphasizes problem-solving, process improvement, and delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring financial objectives are met. The Controller will engage with various clients, analyze financial reports, and implement effective management practices to foster team development and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage client relationships and ensure expectations are exceeded.
• Review and analyze clients' financial reports and budgets for accuracy.
• Onboard new clients and manage their expectations effectively.
• Conduct ongoing process improvements and follow-up activities for issue resolution.
• Engage and train team members to provide excellent customer service.
• Set SMART goals for team members to ensure professional growth.
• Coordinate advisor activities regarding taxes, legal issues, and insurance.
• Forecast requirements and prepare annual budgets to meet financial objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 4+ years' experience as a controller.
• 2+ years' experience supervising a team of 3 or more accounting professionals.
• Expert knowledge of GAAP.
• Very good communication and presentation skills.
• Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

• Accounting experience in construction and law firms highly preferred.
• 2+ years' experience interacting with executive teams or business owners is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills with office software.
