About the position

The Controller at MindCare Solutions is a key financial leader responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity in financial reporting. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting functions, collaborating across departments, and supporting strategic financial planning to maintain the financial health necessary for delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and present financial statements in compliance with GAAP and other applicable standards.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including healthcare-specific requirements.
  • Lead and manage audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop and monitor budgets in partnership with department heads and senior leadership.
  • Create financial forecasts to guide long-term strategic planning and operational decisions.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure financial stability.
  • Manage banking relationships and optimize treasury functions for the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial operations, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
  • Partner with leadership to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
  • Provide actionable financial insights to support operational decision-making and business growth.
  • Maintain and optimize financial systems and reporting tools to support the organization's growth and operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, with healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a small to mid-sized organization is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and healthcare-specific financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and ERP systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to balance day-to-day operations with strategic oversight.
  • Adaptable and capable of thriving in a dynamic, mission-driven organization.
