About the position

Come join our team and love what you do! We are currently hiring a full-time Controller for Fremont Hospital. The Controller is responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, cost accounting, financial analysis, accounts payable, and providing oversight to accounts receivables. This role also involves managing the financial accounting/close and reporting process, completing tax packages, negotiating with vendors, performing bank reconciliations, and handling miscellaneous requests from Corporate or the Institute for fiscal analysis and information. This position requires the exercise of independent judgment and is crucial for maintaining the financial health of the hospital. Fremont Hospital is a fully accredited, 148-bed private inpatient psychiatric hospital that provides quality care for children through adults. The facility offers a full range of services, including assessments, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment, and chemical dependency outpatient care. The Controller will play a key role in ensuring that the hospital operates efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall mission of providing high-quality healthcare services. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Manage payroll and cost accounting processes.
  • Conduct financial analysis and oversee accounts payable.
  • Provide oversight to accounts receivables.
  • Manage the financial accounting/close and reporting process.
  • Complete tax packages and negotiate with vendors.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and handle miscellaneous requests from Corporate or the Institute.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven healthcare finance experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
