About the position

The Controller at Polaris Modular is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting and financial reporting processes, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with financial regulations. This strategic role involves managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and collaborating with leadership on financial planning and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the company's accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to leadership.
• Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights for financial improvement.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with audits as needed.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and efficiency.
• Collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning and decision-making.
• Optimize financial systems and processes to improve reporting accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including managerial roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
• Expertise in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
