About the position

The Controller at Spectrum Safety Solutions is responsible for executing and delivering financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, leading operational and technical accounting deliverables for the North America business units. This role involves oversight of accounting updates for the ERP system, delivering key controllership objectives, and ensuring the accuracy of financial results through complex accounting activities and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Process and execute financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Lead and support operational and technical accounting deliverables for North America business units.
• Manage and oversee accounting updates and changes for ERP JD Edwards.
• Deliver key controllership objectives while supporting the Mission & Vision of SSS Finance.
• Execute monthly and quarterly closing activities to deliver results for North America Business Units.
• Perform initial key analytics on financial results to confirm accuracy.
• Oversee general ledger maintenance activities and monthly closing activities.
• Responsible for reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
• Manage BU controls and report issues to the Controller, focusing on action plans and maintaining the control environment.

Requirements

• Senior level experience in accounting and finance.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and practices.
• Experience with ERP systems, specifically JD Edwards.
• Ability to perform complex accounting activities including revenue and project accounting.
• Strong analytical skills to assess financial results and reconciliations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a global company with a focus on fire detection and suppression solutions.
• Familiarity with financial reporting in high-hazard applications.
