About the position

The Controller at Applied Intuition will lead the Accounting department, managing financial reporting and overseeing audits. This role is critical for maintaining accurate financial reporting, streamlining processes, and scaling the accounting team in a high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in technical and operational accounting, with a proven track record in building strong teams and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Own the financial close process and all associated processes and reporting to deliver accurate and timely results to the organization.
  • Oversee all accounting processes, including revenue, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, tax, treasury, consolidation, and financial reporting.
  • Provide leadership and vision for scaling the accounting team and financial infrastructure.
  • Drive opportunities for process improvements and automation, optimizing ERP and accounting systems.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of accounting principles and procedures in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Work cross-functionally with FP&A team and business unit leaders for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies and procedures.
  • Partner with all departments to provide data and insights for effective decision-making.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support long-term planning and growth initiatives.
  • Lead, retain, and develop a high-performing accounting team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA
  • 10+ years of overall experience in financial reporting as a senior member of the accounting team
  • Proven track record of building strong teams and leading cross-functional projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong ERP systems experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including ability to analyze transactions and document accounting analysis under GAAP

  • Experience with Netsuite
  • 3+ years of Big 4 experience
  • Experience implementing SOX
  • Overseeing international subsidiaries and transfer pricing arrangements
  • Knowledgeable of stock-based compensation accounting requirements
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606
  • Similar industry experience in a high-growth software company
