About the position

The Site Controller at Magnera Corporation is responsible for providing accounting leadership and ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the accounting function at the mill. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and implementing strong internal controls. The Site Controller acts as a financial adviser to site leadership, providing necessary financial analysis to maximize profitability and support operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Financial Adviser / Business Partner to Site leadership, providing necessary financial analysis for daily operations and maximizing site profitability.
  • Evaluate operating costs and create financial metrics with proper visibility, championing cost control efforts.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and training to maintain expertise and harmony within the accounting department.
  • Ensure conformity to all company accounting requirements and provide reporting and management information in line with deadlines.
  • Oversee and develop a financial management system with strong internal controls and compliance monitoring to protect company assets and meet SOX Act requirements.
  • Evaluate long and short-term strategies, providing recommendations and advising on business decisions.
  • Collaborate within a team environment to optimize profitability and maintain controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration (preferably accounting) is required.
  • CPA, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree is desirable.
  • 10 years of progressively challenging financial management experience in a process manufacturing setting.
  • Wide-based knowledge of SAP Modules and/or JD Edwards, preferably in S4 Hana.
  • Experience leveraging ERP systems and information databases.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Software Applications.
  • Functional financial skills including budget preparation, financial forecasting, financial analysis, commercial support, and performance assessment.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and a SOX compliant operating environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of current accounting methods and practices, particularly related to cost and management accounting.
