About the position

The Controller at Omega Labs Inc. is a senior finance and accounting manager specializing in SaaS financial management. This role involves overseeing key financial metrics, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing subscription-based revenue recognition. The Controller will lead financial reporting, analysis, and strategic recommendations to support the company's growth in the EdTech sector.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize key SaaS metrics, including ARR, MRR, churn, LTV, CAC, and customer retention costs.
• Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant standards.
• Implement and manage systems for tracking deferred revenue, renewals, and billing cycles.
• Manage subscription-based revenue recognition and ensure accuracy in billing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business goals.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and processes to meet audit requirements.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, effectively communicating financial performance and strategic insights.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models and dashboards for decision-making.
• Implement and manage software platforms for financial management and reporting.
• Ensure all financial documentation and file organization meet external auditors' standards.

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of experience in progressing Accounting and Financial roles with 5+ years of managerial experience in an organization of at least 30-50 employees.
• 5+ years of experience in a SaaS environment.
• Experience in a Private Equity (PE) environment is a plus.
• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Accounting skills to include payroll, accounting, A/P, A/R and credit.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage tasks to meet deadlines and expectations with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
• CMA/CPA required.
• A passion for K-12 education.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Quickbooks online.
• Ability to analyze business patterns using Windows/Microsoft products including Excel and/or PowerBi.
• Preferred education - CPA or significant experience in business and/or finance and accounting.
