About the position

The Controller position at GEMRT is a leadership role responsible for managing the firm's administrative and financial operations. This position is designed for a candidate with a strong background in public accounting and operational effectiveness, with the potential to grow into a COO role. The Controller will oversee various departments, ensure efficient operations, and contribute to strategic initiatives within the firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage the firm's administrative and financial operations.
• Supervise all accounting functions and systems.
• Oversee daily operations and administrative processes of Tax Services, Audit & Assurance Services, and Accounting Services.
• Assess the current state of affairs of the Operations Department and develop a plan for key priorities.
• Prepare, interpret, and present management and efficiency reports to the Partners.
• Formulate an annual budget and manage office activities and vendor relationships.
• Lead employees to encourage high performance and retention.

Requirements

• Master's in Business Administration or CPA License preferred.
• Proven experience as controller, firm administrator, or operations manager for a CPA firm or similar role.
• Understanding of diverse business functions such as HR, IT, marketing, and client service deliverables.
• Knowledge of required technology integration.
• Excellent communication, listening, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize, plan, and implement strategic initiatives.
• Aptitude in decision making and problem-solving.
