About the position

The Controller will oversee critical finance, accounting, and reporting activities, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory laws, managing day-to-day accounting operations, and producing corporate financial statements and regulatory reports.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including Mortgage Banking, Investments, OREO, and Derivatives/Swaps.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, Bank policies, and applicable Federal/State regulatory laws.
  • Manage month-end and annual closing processes, including accrual and reserve transactions.
  • Act as primary administrator for the general ledger and related applications as assigned by the CFO.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of FDIC Call Report, FHLB QCR, and other regulatory reports.
  • Produce corporate financial statements and regulatory financial reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual audited financials in conjunction with the CFO.
  • Assess branch cash needs and adjust levels to provide adequate reserves according to Federal Reserve policy guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Master's Degree or CPA preferred.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible financial management experience in a financial services environment.
  • Experience with Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Auditing, Budget Processes, Microsoft Excel, Banking Industry, Oracle, Corporate Treasury, and Audit.
