About the position

The Controller at Woodard Cleaning and Restoration is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company. This position focuses on managing accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and compliance, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the finance team. The Controller will work closely with the leadership team to create a financially informed culture that supports the company's mission of delivering legendary service and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
• Lead and develop a proactive finance team that supports all areas of the business.
• Implement and optimize financial systems to improve reporting and forecasting.
• Foster interdepartmental collaboration to enhance financial understanding company-wide.
• Maintain high standards in compliance, risk management, and financial integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 7+ years' experience with progressive leadership in accounting, risk management, and financial operations, preferably within construction or restoration.
• Proven track record in strategic financial planning, team development, risk management, and systems implementation.
• Strong command of financial and job cost systems, with advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Salesforce, Certinia, or similar ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the construction industry.
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification.
