About the position
The Controller at Southwest Montana Community Health Center plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by managing the Accounting/Finance Department's responsibilities. This position involves overseeing general ledger accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and producing accurate financial statements. The Controller is also responsible for grant management and invoicing, particularly for HRSA grants, while providing leadership in budgeting and auditing efforts.
Responsibilities
- Assist the CFO in managing the Accounting/Finance Department.
- Oversee general ledger accounting tasks and ensure compliance with GAAP and IRS regulations.
- Produce complete, accurate, and timely financial statements and reports.
- Manage grant management and invoicing, particularly for HRSA grants.
- Coordinate budgeting and auditing efforts within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of five years of experience in accounting and general ledger management.
- Experience in direct supervision and management of personnel.
- Experience with federal grant management and reporting.
- Preferred experience in practice management, dental, pharmacy, or healthcare settings.

- Experience with QuickBooks or other comprehensive accounting software.

- Salary range of $74,587 - $89,226 depending on experience and qualifications.
