About the position

The Controller at Stockd Group is responsible for managing the financial services department of a leading full-service construction company. This role involves overseeing job cost processing, financial transaction processing, financial reporting, and internal controls. The position offers a pathway to advance to the CFO role within five years, making it a significant opportunity for career growth in the construction finance sector.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate job cost processing and reconciliation, cost to complete, and revenue projections.
• Develop and manage project budgets, preparing detailed forecasts and variance analyses to track financial performance.
• Generate monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Monitor and control project costs to prevent overruns and implement cost-saving measures.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies and regulatory requirements, coordinating internal and external audits.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning, assessing financial risks and providing recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure financial alignment with project goals.
• Lead a team of three direct reports in Accounting and manage ESOP reporting and evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a financial controller or similar role in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction finance, budgeting, and cost management.
• Direct experience managing accounting staff and financial software proficiency.

Nice-to-haves

• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• Experience in a construction company with at least $200M+ in revenue is highly preferred.
