About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our dynamic team in the Distribution industry. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate financial professional to take on a leadership role and drive the financial health and success of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of both operational and financial management, coupled with the ability to forecast, strategically plan, and budget effectively. As a Controller, your primary duties will include overseeing all financial operations of the company, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting. You will develop and implement strategic financial plans to drive company growth and profitability, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant financial regulations. Additionally, you will manage the company's general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of all financial records. Utilizing SAP or equivalent systems, you will streamline and automate financial processes while providing leadership and direction to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Collaboration with other department heads will be essential to align financial management with company operations and goals. You will analyze financial data and reports to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for growth, preparing and presenting financial reports and analyses to company leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the company's general ledger and ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial records.

  • Providing leadership and direction to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Collaborating with other department heads to align financial management with company operations and goals.

  • Preparing and presenting financial reports and analyses to company leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Distribution industry.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in forecasting, strategic planning, and budgeting.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and manage a team.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and a solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent financial management systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of general ledger functions and operations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in clear, understandable terms.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
