About the position

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Permanent Controller to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This is an incredible opportunity for a seasoned financial professional with a strong background in financial management, accounting, budgeting, QuickBooks, inventory management, and overall business operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's financial and accounting functions, including regulatory compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial planning. This role is a key member of our executive team, and as such, the right individual will be a strategic partner in the management and growth of the business, driving financial strategy and planning. The Controller will oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions. They will direct financial strategy, planning, and forecasts; conferring with the CEO, CFO, and other executive management team members. The successful candidate will supervise the investment and raising of funds to support the business, study, analyze, and report on trends, opportunities for expansion, and projection of future company growth. Additionally, they will monitor and confirm the financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors, control and evaluate the organization's fundraising plans and capital structure, and ensure compliance with the law and company's policies. The Controller will also manage a team of financial controllers and financial analysts, handle all aspects of inventory management, including tracking and valuation, and utilize QuickBooks for financial management and reporting. This position requires a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach to drive the financial success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CPA).
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior financial managerial position in the manufacturing industry.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial planning software.
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities and a team-focused mentality.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficient understanding of business law and corporate governance.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and analysis.
