About the position

Curbco is seeking a full-time experienced CONTROLLER to join our team. For over 28 years, Curbco, Inc. has specialized in facilities maintenance for commercial, municipal, and industrial properties. Our services include Construction & Pavement, Sweeping & Power-Washing, Landscape & Horticulture, Snow & Ice Services, and Storm Water Management & Soil Erosion. Our facility is equipped with the latest technology and state-of-the-art equipment, providing our teams with the tools they need to succeed. As the Controller, you will have oversight of the entire company operations and systems. You will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting, from payroll to tax compliance. This role is responsible for monitoring and analyzing financial data to make informed financial decisions. You will be accountable for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of financial reports and the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records. Your responsibilities will include collecting and consolidating financial data for multiple companies, supervising the accounting and finance departments, creating strategic plans for financial operations, preparing internal and external financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations, and coordinating external auditor activities. You will also provide company leaders with insights for decision-making purposes, manage budgeting and forecasting processes, coordinate procurement activities, establish and maintain financial controls, assess and improve accounting procedures, identify, develop, and monitor KPIs, manage regulatory reporting, and screen, hire, train, and retain accounting department employees.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' applicable experience
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • High proficiency using QuickBooks
  • Proven experience in accounting functions including payroll, accounts payables, receivables, general ledger activity & month-end/year-end close processes
  • Experience in financial reporting, procurement, budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax procedures, regulations, laws, and rules
  • Strong understanding of economic principles
  • Project management and employee management experience
