About the position

The Controller will lead the accounting and financial operations of a well-established company, overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing the budgeting process. This role involves strategic financial planning and providing insights to guide the company's long-term financial health and growth. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader capable of mentoring a team and driving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and revenue recognition.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP (or IFRS, as applicable).
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Provide accurate forecasts and financial analysis to assist management in strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee cash flow planning, ensuring the company has adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Perform in-depth financial analyses to support strategic initiatives and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by senior leadership.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements, tax filings, and financial reporting obligations are met.
  • Manage the internal and external audit processes, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors and ensuring audit findings are addressed promptly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in financial reporting.
  • 4 years of experience in financial statements preparation.
  • 4 years of experience in compliance and regulatory standards.
  • 4 years of experience in budgeting and forecasting.
  • 4 years of experience in strategic planning.
  • 5 years of experience in Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years of experience in budgeting management reporting.
