About the position

The Financial Controller will oversee the financial health of the company, implementing robust financial controls and supporting strategic growth initiatives. This role requires a strong leader with expertise in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) and manufacturing industries, and a proven track record in managing financial operations and driving operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Conduct regular assessments of financial processes and systems to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Lead financial due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions, assessing financial viability and identifying risks.
  • Collaborate with external advisors and internal teams to evaluate and execute M&A transactions.
  • Assess current ERP systems and lead the evaluation and selection of a new ERP solution that aligns with business objectives.
  • Manage the implementation of the new ERP system, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes and training for staff.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Act as a key liaison between finance and other departments, facilitating collaboration and effective communication regarding financial matters.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership and the board of directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Active CPA certification, preferably from a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive financial management experience, with a strong background in the consumer goods and manufacturing sectors.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and M&A processes; proficiency in ERP systems and financial software.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing finance teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.

  • Compensation range of $225,000 - $300,000 + bonus
