About the position

The Director of Financial Operations is responsible for overseeing financial operations across multiple small business units or a complex site. This role involves direct and indirect supervision of subordinate managers and employees, focusing on long-term planning, policy formation, and strategic direction. The Director is accountable for financial leadership, project management on a global scale, and ensuring the achievement of organizational objectives through sound decision-making and effective management of financial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial and accounting personnel within the department.
  • Staff the department, assign work, review performance, and address performance issues.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to team members.
  • Promote and maintain a productive work environment.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and business controls to provide work direction.
  • Ensure coherence within the organization regarding compensation policies.
  • Provide financial leadership by reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting financial and budgetary information.
  • Participate in management decision-making based on departmental analysis and recommendations.
  • Analyze investment decisions, product pricing, and profitability.
  • Report and analyze the current financial position.
  • Develop external business relationships by providing financial rate and cost structures.
  • Develop financial models associated with business opportunities.
  • Manage activities associated with the financial planning process.
  • Coordinate and consolidate order forecasts, revenue forecasts, and manufacturing and operations costs for multi-year timeframes.
  • Implement and support financial processes and system architecture throughout business units.
  • Develop new procedures and implement new processes to continually improve service quality.
  • Responsible for Statutory Reporting in line with local requirements.

Requirements

  • Eleven to fourteen years of applicable experience in finance.
  • Expert knowledge of marketplace conditions for finance.
  • Expert knowledge of Celestica's finance organization including strategic policies and objectives.
  • Excellent understanding of the global business environment and customer business, organization, products, and processes.
  • Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to interface with many international sites to establish strong working relationships and cooperation.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train, and motivate a diverse group of managers and employees.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; accounting designation recommended.
