About the position

We are hiring a Controller for a non-profit company in Miami, FL. This role involves partnering with executives to develop and implement financial strategies, advising senior leadership on financial matters, and serving as a liaison to the board. The Controller will lead a team of finance professionals and oversee financial reporting, planning, and analysis, while also representing the organization externally to key partners.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Executives to develop, implement, and measure financial progress on strategic business plans and operating initiatives.
• Advise the CEO and senior leadership on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
• Serve as the liaison to the board and finance committee, presenting critical financial matters at meetings.
• Represent the organization externally by building relationships with banks, donors, vendors, and other financial institutions.
• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals responsible for financial reporting, planning, and analysis.
• Oversee and evolve financial and operational metrics, analysis, and support tools to deliver actionable insights.
• Help develop and execute multi-year business plans and strategies that advance the agency's priorities.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of financial models that assist Senior Management in decision-making.
• Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, set objectives, and conduct annual performance appraisals.

Requirements

• Must have experience working in the non-profit setting.
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Familiarity with non-profit finance and accounting regulations.
• Proven track record of facilitating organizational change within a growing organization.
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to operate as an effective tactical and strategic thinker.
