About the position

The Controller position at ETC involves overseeing the company's financial records and accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and responsible for creating and maintaining procedures and controls related to financial accounts, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, and providing strategic financial recommendations to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and improve accounting systems and processes.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, such as balance sheets and income statements, following GAAP standards.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Maintain accounting records/books, including journal entries, general ledger, taxes, etc.
  • Prepare budgets and communicate actual vs budgeted results to senior management.
  • Identify and communicate economic trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage all aspects of the accounting processes including revisions, account reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
  • Oversee federal and state tax compliance, reporting, planning, and collaborating with tax preparers.
  • Develop and maintain internal control systems to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Implement, monitor, and administer financial policies, procedures, and processes as deemed appropriate by the senior leadership team.
  • Identify areas of improvement in the accounting process and provide strategic financial recommendations.
  • Assist with complex transactions, including review of contracts before execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting.
  • 5 - 7 years of related experience required.
  • Knowledge of GAAP standards; CPA preferred.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong written, verbal, and collaboration skills.
