About the position

The position of Accounting and Finance Manager at Dorner Manufacturing involves overseeing the company's accounting and finance functions, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations and maintaining strong internal controls. The role requires advising leadership on financial matters to enhance performance and profitability while leading and developing the finance team through effective communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes or recommends major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies to management.
  • Leads, develops individuals, and manages the performance of the Accounting and Finance Team.
  • Reviews operations and accounting reports for abnormalities and errors, working with management to develop corrective actions.
  • Prepares reports and presentations summarizing business performance, explaining variances to Plan, and developing forecasts.
  • Establishes and executes internal controls as defined by the control framework.
  • Supports budget preparation, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation.
  • Reviews and analyzes overall manufacturing costs, including unit costs and profit margins.
  • Oversees capital assets, ensuring proper accounting for depreciation, purchases, and retirements.
  • Manages and approves accounting journal entries at the end of each accounting period.
  • Reviews and approves balance sheet account reconciliations and other documentation according to policies.
  • Analyzes manufacturing efficiencies and cost variances, keeping management informed of trends.
  • Collaborates with corporate accounting for year-end financial close and external audit requirements.
  • Works with Corporate Internal Audit to ensure compliance with required procedures and accuracy of financial data.
  • Manages both hourly and salaried associates involved in product costing, cycle counting, management reporting, and payables processing.
