As a Controller at Encompass Health, you will play a pivotal role in leading the accounting and financial operations of the hospital. You will also oversee forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, and audits. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing monthly and annual financial reviews, budgets, and necessary state financial reports. Additionally, you will develop and implement plans aimed at enhancing operational efficiency as requested by the CEO and other leadership members. Your participation in hospital Governing Body committees and partnership boards will be essential, as will your assistance in monitoring compliance with Medicare regulations. Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the accounting system and financial operations of the hospital.
• Manage billing, accounts receivable, cash receipts, collections, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reviews, budgets, and necessary state financial reports.
• Develop and implement plans to enhance operational efficiency as requested by the CEO and hospital leadership.
• Participate in hospital Governing Body committees and partnership boards as needed.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with Medicare regulations.

Requirements

• Preferably hold a CPA certification.
• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management with a major in Accounting.
• An MBA is preferred.
• Have a minimum of five years of hospital accounting experience.
• Knowledge of financial management and analysis principles and techniques.
• Managerial skills typically acquired through two to three years of experience in public accounting, specifically in health care auditing and reimbursement.
• One to three years experience as a hospital chief financial officer preferred.
