About the position
The interim Controller will play a crucial role in assisting a non-profit organization with general accounting cleanup and establishing best practices. This hybrid position involves partnering with the Executive Director to review current accounting processes, journal entries, and produce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for grants and reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with general accounting cleanup for the organization.
- Partner with the Executive Director to review current accounting processes.
- Review journal entries for accuracy and compliance.
- Produce a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for handling grants, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Account for accruals related to benefits.
Requirements
- Proficiency in maintaining and preparing journal entries.
- Experience in the non-profit sector and grant accounting principles.
- Experience with accruals and their application in the healthcare industry.
- Demonstrable experience with journal entry preparation in a healthcare or NHS setting.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency with SAGE and Excel.
- Recent experience working in the non-profit sector.
