About the position
The Controller at Myers & Co. is responsible for overseeing the financial administration of the business. This includes managing month-end accounting closes, ensuring accurate reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, preparing financial reports and analyses, developing forecasts and budgets, and coordinating tax filings. The role also involves supervising the plant financial team and overseeing payroll functions, reporting directly to the General Manager/President.
Responsibilities
- Complete month-end accounting close.
- Ensure proper reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare financial reports and analysis.
- Develop periodic forecasts and annual budget.
- Manage the plant financial team.
- Coordinate and complete tax filings.
- Oversee payroll functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Five years of experience with a recognized public accounting firm or ten years of industry experience in an accounting role.
- Supervisory and management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Hyperion, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proactive problem-solving orientation.
