About the position

Hurco is seeking a Division Controller for its Corporate Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is pivotal in overseeing the financial accounting function for Hurco North America, ensuring financial controls are in place across various departments including sales, marketing, service, and operations. The Division Controller will manage financial reporting, compliance, and strategic planning to enhance the division's performance.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise all aspects of accounting operations.
  • Coordinate and supervise the month end/year end closing activities, including reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by staff.
  • Manage and review all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for Hurco North America consolidated, which includes Hurco USA, Hurco Midwest, and MASCO.
  • Analyze operating results and variances to identify and resolve potential financial risk areas in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate, prepare and review the annual business plan and quarterly financial forecast.
  • Develop and monitor policies, procedures and practices relating to financial and internal controls in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with standard accounting practices and corporate policies.
  • Manage receivables, collections and credit risks associated with sales to distributors and end customers.
  • Participate in the development and execution of Division strategic and business plan.
  • Partner with senior division leaders to understand business requirements and develop an excellent understanding of cost drivers and P&Ls for respective groups.
  • Improve the performance of the division through business process excellence and balanced scorecard performance measurement process.
  • Develop improved decision support processes throughout the sales, service and supply chain teams.
  • Monitor and assess information and trends affecting the financial results of the Division.
  • Provide day-to-day support to sales, marketing, service and operations to ensure transactions are processed in accordance with US GAAP and Company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA required, MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in leadership roles responsible for financial accounting, credit, cost accounting and analysis, preferably in a big five accounting firm and multi-national manufacturing firm.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, documentation and personnel management skills.
  • Excellent PC skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
