About the position

This position is incentive eligible. Trident Medical Center is seeking a Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide leadership and direction within the organization. The Controller will be responsible for planning, organizing, budgeting, controlling, and directing financial operations, as well as conducting cost/benefit analysis. This role includes general finance functions such as monthly financial reporting and associated analysis, providing necessary financial insights to the management team to aid in decision-making. The Controller will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organization, ensuring that all financial practices align with the overall goals of Trident Medical Center and HCA Healthcare. The Controller will also oversee a team, ensuring that all financial operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This includes managing the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing best practices in financial management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, particularly within the healthcare industry, and will be expected to lead by example, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence within the finance team. The position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on financial integrity and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the finance team.

Requirements

  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in accounting required.
  • Master's degree in Business or advanced membership and certification in HFMA is desirable but not required.
  • 5+ years of financial accounting experience.
  • 4+ years of progressive leadership experience within the healthcare industry.
  • HCA experience strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to relocate within the HCA system is highly desirable.
