About the position

This role involves managing financial forecasting, budgeting, and consolidation processes for our company. You will also be responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive job cost systems and the coordination of financial statement preparation. This role is in the construction industry, and the successful candidate will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Controller will oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax, and audit functions. You will monitor and manage all aspects of the company's financial health, implementing strategies to increase profitability. Additionally, you will direct financial planning and strategy analysis, overseeing and making improvements to budgeting and forecasting processes. Close collaboration with project management teams to develop financial plans and ensure they are executed is essential. You will also oversee audit and internal control processes, manage relationships with investors and financial institutions, and develop and establish a financial control framework, including financial systems, methods, and procedures. Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team is a key responsibility, along with adhering to local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Possession of a minimum of 10 years of detail-oriented experience in a Controller role or a similar position.
  • Demonstrable experience in the construction industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA qualification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP).
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
