About the position

The Controller position at Robert Half in Charlottesville, Virginia, is a critical role within the Accounting and Financial Analysis sector. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial reporting, revenue management, tax compliance, and internal controls, ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and monitoring of the company's budget and business plan
  • Manage the creation of cash flow statements and assess ongoing working capital metrics and liquidity needs
  • Ensure the efficiency and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Coordinate directly with international subsidiary for accurate and timely consolidation of financial statements
  • Ensure timely billing and invoicing of all revenue and proper accounting treatment
  • Monitor and maintain all subsidiary ledgers for customer activities and ensure timely collection
  • Ensure timely reporting of monthly financial information for the executive staff and the Board of Directors
  • Oversee all payroll and tax activities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and filings
  • Interact with external auditors and provide them with necessary information and schedules
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce adequate internal controls and processes to ensure effective control and reporting
  • Work on contracts management and workflow process related to various revenue streams
  • Identify and lead initiatives to automate and streamline accounting operations.

Requirements

  • Must hold a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar.
  • Proficiency with Accounting Software Systems is required.
  • Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential.
  • Knowledge of DCAA regulations and practices is necessary.
  • Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is crucial.
  • Must have experience with ERP Solutions.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Functions is needed.
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.
  • Prior experience with Auditing is necessary.
  • Must have a solid understanding of Budget Processes.
