We are currently seeking an experienced Controller for our manufacturing plant located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This position is crucial as it oversees the organization's financial affairs, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting policies related to a for-profit organization. The Controller will provide management with the financial information necessary to make informed business decisions. As the Controller, you will manage planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable requirements. You will analyze company financial statements monthly, including comparative balance sheets, income statements, departmental expense schedules, and gross profits, ensuring adherence to company guidelines. Additionally, you will coordinate and direct budget preparation and financial forecasts, prepare budgets requiring accounting input, and assemble and analyze data for management and owners. Your role will also involve reviewing and providing financial inputs for manufacturing variances, product cost savings, and overall manufacturing efficiencies. You will oversee treasury management offerings from financial institutions, create custom financial reports, analyze results of standard cost roll-ups, and participate in cost-focused activities and cost reduction projects. Furthermore, you will sign company checks up to a specified dollar amount, coordinate activities with external auditors, and promote safety awareness within the workplace. Compliance with all safety policies and procedures is essential, and you will be responsible for reporting any unsafe activities or concerns to the General Manager, safety officer, or human resources.
