About the position

CSI Companies is seeking a qualified Controller to join our client's team onsite in Gainesville, FL. Our client is a leading full-service medical and surgical acute care center serving North Central Florida. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the facility, ensuring that all financial reporting is accurate and complies with regulatory standards. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare accounting practices and the ability to lead a team effectively. The Controller will work closely with the Assistant CFO and will be accountable for maintaining proper financial controls to ensure reliable and accurate financial reporting and integrity of financial services and applications. This includes consistently analyzing, evaluating, and monitoring procedures, processes, and systems to enhance operational efficiency. In addition to financial oversight, the Controller will formulate and administer general accounting practices in adherence with corporate accounting policy and internal audit guidelines. This involves interpreting data and preparing financial analyses of operations for the guidance of management. The role also emphasizes the importance of delivering high-quality services by maintaining appropriate staffing levels, equipment, resources, and training for staff. The Controller will apply principles of continuous quality improvement in the delivery of services, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, JCAHO, and other regulatory and accrediting agencies. Furthermore, the Controller will demonstrate knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and report trends in occurrences to staff quarterly, using this information to improve safety and address safety in the Performance Improvement Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for twenty-four-hour operations and maintaining proper financial controls.
  • Formulates and administers general accounting practices in adherence with corporate accounting policy and internal audit guidelines.
  • Ensures delivery of high-quality services by maintaining appropriate staffing levels, equipment, resources, competency, physical space, training, and education of staff.
  • Applies the principles of continuous quality improvement in delivery of services, through assessment and monitoring of financial processes and systems.
  • Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, JCAHO, legal and all regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and reports trends in occurrences to staff quarterly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 5-8+ years of management experience in health care accounting required
  • CPA preferred
  • Demonstrated success and abilities in leadership, achieving results, communications, customer service and health care management
  • MUST HAVE HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE
  • Looking for seasoned Asst. Controller or Controller in an acute care setting
