About the position

Holly Poultry is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting team and manage financial operations for the company. This role involves overseeing accounting practices, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the company's growth through effective financial management. Responsibilities

• Lead a team of two senior accounting professionals and one staff accountant.
• Manage inventory cost adjustments during monthly closes.
• Oversee tax accounting and ensure compliance with state and local jurisdictions.
• Support year-end audits and collaborate with the Director of Finance.
• Engage in operational accounting, including accounts receivable and accounts payable management.
• Participate in monthly meetings with senior leadership to discuss financial results and strategic objectives.
• Gain exposure to treasury management and cash forecasting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in corporate or public accounting.
• CPA designation is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
• Prior experience supervising accounting staff.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Exposure to Canopy (ERP) is a plus.
• Limited tax accounting and compliance experience is a plus.
