About the position

The Accounting & Finance Manager will lead the accounting and financial functions of a growing mid-size construction company. This role is crucial for managing all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing, while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, particularly in percent of completion accounting, and will provide insights for decision-making through budgeting and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the company's accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and produce balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, providing insights for decision-making.
• Perform project analysis to assess financial performance and profitability.
• Partner with the company's outside CPA firm to manage tax filings and compliance.
• Oversee and process all AP, AR, and payroll functions.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• CPA certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience in construction accounting with knowledge of percent of completion accounting.
• Proven ability to manage AP, AR, and payroll functions.
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
• Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, and performing variance analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with external CPA firms for tax matters.
