About the position

FreeCast is seeking a results-driven Controller with PCAOB experience to join our team at our Orlando, FL location. This full-time position is essential for supporting day-to-day accounting tasks and financial activities within our company, which has been successfully operating for over 12 years. The Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, and preparing monthly journal entries, as well as internal management and financial reporting. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and it offers a significant opportunity for growth and development in the accounting field. As a Controller, you will report directly to the COO and will have one direct report. Your responsibilities will include reconciling all bank accounts in QuickBooks, supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, preparing monthly end closing reports, and ensuring that all vendor invoices and revenue sales are entered correctly. You will also be tasked with preparing working papers for quarterly reviews and managing monthly sales tax payments. This position requires a motivated individual with a passion for numbers and finance, who is ready to contribute to the financial health of FreeCast. This is an on-site only position, and candidates must be able to commute to the FreeCast office in Orlando, FL. We are looking for someone who can start within two weeks of receiving a job offer. Responsibilities

  • Reconcile all bank, primary and sub accounts in QuickBooks.
  • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Prepare journal entries and monthly end closing reports.
  • Prepare working papers for quarterly reviews and S1 as requested.
  • Prepare all reports and pay monthly sales tax.
  • Prepare all monthly revenue payments.
  • Adjust journal entries onto the deferred revenue schedule as requested.
  • Ensure all vendor invoices and revenue sales are entered correctly.
  • Furnish a bi-weekly list of bills to be paid.
  • Process weekly contractor's pay.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll in ADP WFN.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of general accounting, audit, and financial analysis experience.
  • Experience in SOX compliance.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Advanced experience using MS Office (Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Familiarity with ADP WFN (Payroll).
  • Experience with account reconciliation and financial reporting.
