About the position

A dynamic company in the Norcross, GA area is seeking a Controller, specializing in the light manufacturing and distribution industry. This role will serve as a pivotal member of the executive team and support colleagues across finance, accounting, HR, and administrative functions within the company. The Controller will maintain a strong hands-on approach to accounting practices, overseeing the preparation of P&L statements, balance sheets, and all associated journal entries. This position requires collaboration with an external CPA firm to ensure accurate financial reporting, tax planning, and compliance. Additionally, the Controller will lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning processes, manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial risk, and support HR initiatives including payroll management and benefits administration. The role also involves overseeing administrative functions to ensure efficient office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong hands-on approach to accounting practices, overseeing the preparation of P&L statements, balance sheets, and all associated journal entries.
  • Collaborate closely with external CPA firm to ensure accurate financial reporting, tax planning, and compliance.
  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning processes.
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial risk.
  • Support HR initiatives including payroll management and benefits administration.
  • Oversee administrative functions to ensure efficient office operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and proficiency with financial software systems.
  • Experience in managing inventory, preferably within a manufacturing or related industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
