About the position

The Opportunity: We are seeking to hire a Controller to join our Finance Team. This individual oversees accounting operations including purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, grants management and the preparation of monthly financial statements and analyses that help support the achievement of the agency's financial goals. The Controller provides supervision to accounting staff. What You’ll Do: Issue and complete timely monthly and annual financial reports and statistics detailing financial results. You will use this information to recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations. Assist the representative payee program as it relates to receiving, disbursing, and managing client funds, including coordination with Case Management personnel. Analyze data to discover patterns and discrepancies, developing meaningful ad hoc reporting schedules and reporting significant issues to directors and supervisors. Coordinate, review, and prepare Federal, State, and Agency reports required by various grants and awards programs. Monitor annual budget performance, including grant programs, and the impact and implication on cash flow. Assist CFO in providing effective consultation services to directors and supervisors, including budgeting assistance, variance analysis, and other financial consultation as required. Work on special projects and reports as assigned by the CFO. Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and implementation of financial tactical plans. Ensure that accounts payable are disbursed in a timely manner. Manage and maintain the Agency's electronic financial systems, including structure, hierarchy, and reports. Supervise a team of Accountants, a Purchasing Specialist, and Payeeship Associates. This position is in-office, full-time (40 hours a week) working normal business hours.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Accounting is required, preferred 7 years, with experience in healthcare field preferred.
  • Previous supervision experience is required.
  • Experience with representative payeeship is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, following rules of HIPAA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
  • Skill in managing time and meeting deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the healthcare field preferred.
  • Experience with representative payeeship is preferred.
