About the position

Michael's House Treatment Center is currently seeking a full-time Controller. The Controller is responsible for assisting in the completion of month-end processes, cost reports, budgets, ad hoc reporting and analysis, as well as governmental and other miscellaneous reports. This position will interact with assigned facility CEOs and CFOs, facility Business Office Managers, corporate personnel, and government agencies to ensure the completion of month-end closing and balance sheet account reconciliations. The role is located at the UHS facility, Michael's House, in Palm Springs, California. The Controller will manage the month-end and quarterly processes for the facility, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all required reports and accounting data to meet applicable financial deadlines. Additionally, the Controller will assist in establishing facility/department budgets and allocation of funds, with recommendations from department management. This position also involves preparing and analyzing key figures, proforma, cost, and ad hoc reports, as well as assisting facilities in the development and maintenance of the APC/DOI reports and completion of State and Federal reports. The Controller will evaluate risks and opportunities and proactively communicate them to assigned facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end and quarterly processes for the facility.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all required reports and accounting data to meet applicable financial deadlines.
  • Assist with establishing facility/department budgets and allocation of funds, with recommendations from department management.
  • Manage and monitor aspects of the facility budget on a yearly, monthly, and daily basis as required.
  • Prepare and analyze key figures, proforma, cost, and ad hoc reports.
  • Assist facilities in the development and maintenance of the APC/DOI reports and completion of State and Federal reports.
  • Evaluate risks and opportunities and proactively communicate them to assigned facilities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years experience in a health care business development management position.
  • Extensive business development experience resulting in measurable results.
  • Preferred direct experience developing managed care agreements with knowledge in the areas of capitation and at-risk.
